Tooth Extraction
Gentle extraction - when a tooth can no longer be saved.
Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved despite all efforts. In these cases, we perform the extraction as gently and painlessly as possible.
Before and after the procedure, we advise you about tooth replacement options - whether implant, bridge, or denture. This way, the gap does not remain permanent.
How does a tooth extraction work?
After the examination and usually an X-ray, the tooth is loosened and removed under local anaesthesia. The procedure normally takes a few minutes. You then receive a gauze pad and precise instructions for the first hours and days. If necessary, the wound is closed with a suture.
When does a tooth have to be removed?
Reasons include deep destruction by decay, a tooth loosened by periodontitis, a root fracture or a wisdom tooth that does not erupt properly. We always check first whether the tooth can be saved with a filling, root canal treatment or crown.
What should you observe after the procedure?
In the first hours do not rinse, do not smoke and do not touch the site with your tongue so that the blood clot can form. Cooling reduces swelling, soft food protects the wound. Call us if pain persists or bleeding recurs. We advise you on the suitable replacement before and after the procedure.
