Periodontal Treatment

Treatment of gum diseases - for a firm hold of your teeth.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammation of the tooth-supporting structures and one of the most common causes of tooth loss. Signs include bleeding gums, gum recession, and loose teeth.

Treatment includes thorough cleaning of gum pockets, removal of bacterial deposits, and individual follow-up care. Regular check-ups are crucial for long-term treatment success.

How does periodontitis treatment work?

We first measure the depth of the gum pockets and document the findings. In the actual treatment the root surfaces are cleaned of plaque and bacteria under local anaesthesia. After a few weeks we check the result. Aftercare then begins with regular check-ups and cleanings at fixed intervals.

How do you recognise periodontitis?

Bleeding gums when brushing, red or receding gums, bad breath, sensitive tooth necks and loose teeth are warning signs. Periodontitis is often painless for a long time, which is why regular check-ups are so important. Smokers, diabetics and people with a family history have a higher risk.

Does health insurance cover the treatment?

Statutory health insurers cover periodontitis treatment including aftercare over a longer period if certain conditions are met. We submit the application for you and explain which steps are included.
